Click here to download the 2009 Show Bill and KBIF Eligible Classes The Kentucky Horse Breeder’s Incentive Fund (KHBIF) is a special incentive fund which has been set aside for non race breeds to earn money competing in shows and contests, rather than racing. The fund is made possible through the 6% sales tax on stallion fees in Kentucky. I hope that the information below will be helpful. 2009-2011 KHBIF Program The award distribution plan will consist of a two prong approach consisting of a Show contest and Trail contest. Each will be allocated 50% of the available funds 1. The show contest will include a minimum of four events throughout the year. b. All judges must be approved by the RMHA and the judging will follow the rules and guidelines set by the RMHA. 2. The trail contest will consist of a minimum of four events throughout the year. a. The scoring method to be utilized in the trail portion of our program shall follow the Rocky Mountain Rated Trail Program system as established and accepted by the national organization (RMHA). b. All judges will be selected and approved by the Rocky Mountain Rated Trail Committee. c. Each event will offer three different divisions with award distribution as follows: General Division 50%, Senior Division 25%, and Junior Division 25%. d. Contestants will earn points at each event with a minimum point requirement to be eligible for year end awards. All awards for The Rocky Mountain Horse Kentucky Breeders Association, Inc. will be distributed as: 80% to horse owner
The definition of the horse owner is the person or persons documented on the registration papers issued by the RMHA registrar. The definition of the horse breeder is the owner of the dam at the time of breeding. Complete rules and details of the show and rated trail events will be posted and available on the website.

The Rocky Mountain Horse Kentucky Breeders Association, Inc. is excited to announce that our application for funding from the Kentucky Horse Breeder’s Incentive Fund (KHBIF) for the period covering 2009–2011 was approved by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) on February 10, 2009.
a. The scoring method to be utilized in the show portion of our program shall follow the high point system established and accepted by the national organization (RMHA) and documented in the show rule book.
c. There will be designated KHBIF classes at each of the events with the top five competitors in each class receiving awards at the end of the year.

2008 Kentucky Breeders Incentive Fund Results
The following results are a compilation of placement in six (6) shows and six (6) trail rides designated as qualifying for KBIF funds. The amounts of the awards will be determined when the Racing Authority releases the total amount of money allotted to the RMHA/MPH. Claim forms will be sent to the OWNERS of record for the horse and the owners of its sire and dam, providing they are members in good standing in the respective associations.
