The Rocky Mountain Horse Association is deeply saddened to share the news of the recent passing of founding member, Dr. David Swan.

David played an integral role in the conception and development of the organization as a not-for-profit breed registry in 1986 and worked diligently, as an outspoken advocate for the breed, to establish and promote this organization for the protection and preservation of the Rocky Mountain Horse breed.

David served as an RMHA Board Member, as Vice President, Treasurer and Member At Large, and on many Committees of the RMHA, most recently as a member of the Genetics Committee. His dedication to the association and its members played a large part in the association’s growth and success over the past 33 years.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Rea, his family, and his many friends who will miss him dearly. Private services will be held for his family and closest friends.
